Wiurila received the Kehittyvä Maaseutumatkailuyritys 2026 award.

With this award Suomen Maaseutumatkailuyrittäjät ry wants to encourage especially the new generation of entrepreneurs to develop rural tourism. The award was introduced in 2008 to encourage innovative and determined entrepreneurs who are developing their enterprises into new directions.

Especially the following will be taken notice of:

Courageous and innovative development.
Responsible and sustainable practices.
Renewal of products and services (e.g. accommodation, experiences).
Networking and utilisation of locality.

The award is national and directed especially to the rising generation of entrepreneurs or to renewed enterprises.

Wiurila is a cultural-historical manor in the town of Salo. History is part of the everyday life in the manor. Already the ninth generation of the family inhabits the main building. Now the long history of the manor and its renewals and development receive a national recognition.

“It is a pleasure and an honour to us to receive this award. We want to foster the long history of Wiurila while developing the manor as a living travel destination, where the visitors can see and feel the presence of history. A great deal of the attraction consists of the restaurant, the museums and the services situated in the historical environment of the manor. In this environment meet Wiurila’s history and the 50-year history of the seminar”, says Alexander Aminoff, master of Wiurila.

Visiting the manor you can participate in guided tours to three museums. You can enjoy traditional food from Finnish ingredients at the Wiurilan Sigrid restaurant. In the area there are also a full sized golf course, a padel court, and a horse stable. Wiurila organizes events around the year and changing art exhibitions during the summer.

This set of activities and events offer something to see and experience to all visitors. It must have been instrumental in the decision to grant the award to Wiurila, especially on an anniversary year of the Maaseudun Matkailuyrittäjät ry.
