Jumalten keinussa is a concert drama built on music and spoken texts that takes the listener to the edge of the stormy love story of Eino Leino and L. Onerva.
Eino Leino is living his last days. He wants to write one more time for L. Onerva, the great love of his life. Memories begin to live around him. He sees Onerva and their shared moments in his mind: falling in love, winter in Rome, separation and a relationship that continued despite everything. Dream images come and go, but underneath they reveal something permanent: love, longing and a strong connection between the two artists.
Jumalten Keinussa
The concert drama features songs composed by Toivo Kuula and Leevi Madetoja to poems by Eino Leino and L. Onerva. Music and speech drive the story forward and create an intimate picture of two people in whose lives love, art and the longing for freedom were inextricably intertwined.
